Your Republic Bank International Visa Gold Credit Card gives you peace of mind and saves you money by providing this free insurance coverage every time you use your card to rent a car.

What are the benefits and who is covered?
When you use your Republic Bank International Visa Gold Credit Card to book a car and pay the full price of the rental, you are covered by this insurance. To access this coverage, you must decline the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) or similar coverage offered by the car rental company in its rental agreement.
This coverage applies anywhere in the world, including your country of residence in Latin America and the Caribbean (where allowed by local laws) and will be in effect while the vehicle is in the possession of any authorised driver specifically mentioned in the car rental agreement.
The Auto Rental Insurance covers up to the full cost of repair or replacement of a rental vehicle in the event of:

  • Damage due to collision or theft of the vehicle
  • Malicious vandalism charges
  • Loss of use
  • Administrative fee charged by the rental company

What types of rental vehicles are covered?
Most rental automobiles are covered, including some luxury vehicles such as BMW and Mercedes Benz. If you have any questions regarding a specific vehicle, call the Visa Customer Service Center.

What is the first thing I should do if I am involved in an accident or the rental car is stolen?
Speak to the car rental company and be sure to obtain a copy of all documents related to the accident or theft, including the Accident Report Form, a copy of the Car Rental Agreement (front and back), Police Report (if any), and any other pertinent documents

What do I need to do to submit a claim to Visa?
You must notify Visa within 30 days or your claim will not be processed. In addition to all documents indicated above, you must submit proof that the full price of the car rental was paid with the International Visa Gold Credit Card.

Visa does not provide insurance. Insurance is provided by third parties. For definitive information about the scope and limitations of each insurance product, please refer to the policy issued by the insurer.

How do I make a claim?
  • Notify Visa within 30 days
  • Submit copy of all documents related to the accident or theft
  • Submit proof that the full price of the car rental was paid with the International Visa Gold Credit Card

The Visa Price Protection Programme helps you get the best price you can find on most products you buy with your Republic Bank International Visa Classic Credit Card. Simply pay for the entire cost of the product with your credit card and if, within 30 days of the date you purchased the product, you see either a printed advertisement or non-auction internet advertisement for the same product (same model number and same model year) by the same manufacturer, in the same market*, for a lower price, Visa will refund you the difference, up to USD 200 per account per 12-month period. The price difference must be above USD 25 this coverage to apply. Conditions apply.

*Same market is defined as same country and within 100 kilometers of point of purchase. For the US, it will mean the 48 contiguous states. Alaska, Hawaii and other US territories will be treated separately.
