Republic Bank Customers To Benefit From Major Systems Upgrade

St. George’s; October 19, 2022: The excitement mounts as Republic Bank counts down the days before it undertakes a major systems conversion which will bring exciting new products and upgraded services. From November 01st, customers will enjoy a new banking experience, including the long-awaited International Debit Card (IDC), improved online banking platform and the introduction of the RepublicMobile App, which allows customers to do their banking from their mobile device anywhere, anytime.

The conversion process started in February with our Halifax Street and Grand Anse branches. Phase II will see the conversion of Melville Street, Republic House, Grenville, Carriacou and Gouyave branches. This means that ALL our customers will now be able to seamlessly conduct their business from any of our seven branch locations.

Members of the Bank’s management team engaged with media personnel earlier today to outline some of the enhancements customers can expect. Ms. Mavis Mc Burnie, Acting General Manager – Operations highlighted some of the new features customers can expect, such as Cardless Cash, which allows persons to withdraw cash from the ATM without a card, and the tap-and-pay option when making point-of-sale purchases using their new debit card. The new debit card also means no more filling of forms to withdraw or deposit cash at the bank. She further stressed the urgency for customers to collect the new debit card now, to avoid inconvenience on November 01st. The existing OneCard ATM will become obsolete on October 28th.

Manager – Commercial Credit, Devon Thornhill reminded business customers to collect their new cheque books before November 01st as their current stock of cheques will also become obsolete on October 31st. He also made a plea for employers to submit October payroll early, to facilitate timely transfers to their employees’ accounts.

Kurt Mc Farlane, Manager – Head Office highlighted temporary changes to the Bank’s operating hours to facilitate the transition. With the exception of Halifax Street and Grand Anse, all other branches of the Bank will be closed to the public on Monday, October 31st. Limited services will resume on November 01 from 9.00am – 1.00pm. The full list of changes can be viewed on the Bank’s website www.republicgrenada.com.

Republic Bank thanks its customers for their patience and solicits their understanding as we work toward a seamless transition.
