St. George’s, Grenada; October 31, 2025: Republic Bank is proud to announce the awarding of 36 bursaries to 19 Grenadian students for the 2025-26 academic year, in partnership with the University of the West Indies (UWI). The total value of the bursaries amounts to $39,161.00 (Thirty-Nine Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty-One Dollars).
This initiative reaffirms the Bank’s long-standing commitment to supporting education and national development. For over 20 years, Republic Bank has invested in the future of Grenadian youth by helping to ease the financial burden associated with tertiary education.
The bursaries are awarded to students pursuing studies through the University’s Global Campus Programme. “We are honoured to continue this important partnership with UWI and to play a role in empowering Grenadian nationals through education,” said Aesia Worme, Manager - Human Resources at Republic Bank. “For more than two decades, this bursary programme has helped open doors of opportunity for students who demonstrate academic promise, but require financial assistance.”
Mrs. Keisha Commissiong-Branch, Head of the UWI Global Campus – Grenada Site, expressed appreciation for the Bank’s unwavering support: “We sincerely thank Republic Bank for its steadfast investment in the academic growth of our students. These bursaries are not only a financial lifeline – they are a powerful statement of belief in the potential of our youth. The Bank also reminds eligible Grenadian nationals that applications remain open through its Scholarship Programme for those interested in pursuing a first degree at any of UWI’s on-site campuses, located at: Cave Hill, Barbados, Mona, Jamaica and St. Augustine Trinidad. The scholarship assists with tuition and related expenses, over a maximum of three consecutive years. The grant offer is a maximum of $20,000 per academic year.
