Small & Medium-Sized Businesses receive Support from Republic Bank

St. George's, June 20, 2013: Republic Bank continues to play its part in assisting to stimulate the local economy. The Bank hosted a business programme on June 11-12 & 18-20, 2013 to assist thirty (30) small and medium-sized businesses from varying sectors across Grenada and Carriacou.

A team of highly qualified lecturers from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business in Trinidad & Tobago facilitated the programme, which was split into four (4) modules: Leadership; Innovation and Strategy; Marketing; Human Resource and Labour Relations; and Financing Growth.

In welcoming the participants, Manager - Commercial Credit, Republic Bank, Valentine Antoine told them:

"As we endeavour to enhance relationships and keep pace with the ever-changing needs of our customers in the face of new challenges, we at Republic Bank remain committed to providing proven and up-to-date skills required to build business management competencies as well as strategic insights into key management functions such as leadership, financial and human resource management, and marketing."

On speaking of the benefits of the programme, all participants agreed that the gesture was timely, relevant and offered a new hope for continuity and growth, in tough economic times, as they grapple with the challenges of securing business stability and expansion.

Recognizing the private sector as the main engine to stimulate economic growth in our nation, it is the Bank's expectation that the participants would have enhanced their ability to assess and understand the business environment to effectively implement and drive business strategy, in the face of new global economic challenges.
