Credit Analyst

at

Republic Finance and Merchant Bank Limited (Fincor) Grenada

Primary objective

To assist in effectively assessing and structuring credit facilities based on business plans/requests submitted for local and regional projects.

To provide high quality professional service and support for the growth of the Investment banking and brokerage business lines of the EC Operation.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. To assist management in effectively assessing and structuring credit facilities based on business plans and requests submitted for local and regional projects with a view to making recommendations on viability. This will include:
    • Conducting initial screening of supporting information provided by clients and communicating additional requirements to them as necessary.
    • Analyzing related financial, credit and other information, using standards consistent with sound banking principles and in accordance with policies/regulations of all stakeholders such as local/regional Banks and Central Banks where projects are domiciled.
    • Assisting in the development of financial structures/models incorporating suitable covenants that adequately mitigate identified risks.
    • Interacting with clients and specialist departments in obtaining and maintaining knowledge of the lending environment and compiling country and industry information specific to projects.
    • Preparing initial project memorandum for submission to FINCOR Head office
    • Making recommendations on the appropriate types of financing, equity, mezzanine, senior debt.
  2. In conjunction with manager, to action/formulate correspondence received and to be sent to other offices and clients.
  3. To prepare information memoranda for submission to local and regional institutional investors and subsequently following up of responses with a view to obtaining investors for projects.
  4. To monitor/assess the quality of lendings, to identify early signs of deterioration thereby minimizing the Bank's possible exposure to loss; ensuring any irregularities regarding procedures/security items are regularized promptly.
  5. To interact with clients as well as specialist departments in obtaining and compiling country and industry information specific to a project.
  6. To liaise directly with clients and legal counsel both local and regional in ensuring that security items proposed/pledged are perfected as required and thereafter maintained.
  7. To function as Eastern Caribbean Stock Exchange (ECSE) representative, sell investments, conduct trades, prepare prospectus and research reports/syndication of loans.

Pre-requisites

  • In-depth knowledge of cash flow and credit and risk analysis and decisioning
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of banking operations
  • Computer proficiency in business applications, especially spreadsheets
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of all aspects of security procedures

Other Requirements

  • Numerical, analytical, proficient writing and oral communication skills
  • 1-2 years credit and financial analysis at supervisory level
  • Certificate/diploma or equivalent in Finance or other business related studies
  • B.Sc. Banking and Finance
  • ACCA Diploma in Financial Management
